Corporate Giving gives Exponential Results

Luke 19:12-27
Same calling, different results, different rewards

There is a tie-in to the reward that God will give us, with our faithfulness.

Gal 6:7-8

Grace of God brings change. If not, we're not living in the grace of God

Grace of God draws us back to God

2 Cor 9:6-7

God has no limit to what He can do in our lives, and what we can do for Him. There is no ceiling

God is asking us today to invest into where it is closest to His heart

Matt 25:14-29
God gives us calling based on our ability. But rewards us the same.

Everyone will be given the same reward regardless of the abilities and responsibilities

Position
Power
Prize
Praise

There's nothing carnal to look forward for my prize

God will reward me because of the intention of my heart

2 Cor 5:10

Reward is God's desire for us

Sun, Sep 18, 2011 - 1000hrs - Celebration Svc - Ps Samuel & Sharon Lau (HK Revival Centre)

Upgrade My Spiritual Life
In God We Trust

Life of Peter
1) Follow Jesus - Matt 4:18-20
2) Heal the sick, cast out demons - Matt 8-9
3) Calmed the storm - Matt 8-23-27

The growth path of Peter:
-Jesus designed an environment to train the disciples
-Jesus did not resolve their problem right away

To overcome my battles:
1) Have faith
-it will have a training ground
-"Unbelief allows circumstances to stand between God and us. Faith allows God to stand between circumstances & us."
-Rom 5:3-5
-Ask God what kind of lesson does God want me to learn.

2) Faith in action
-James 2:6

Focus
1) Focus in Jesus
-Matt 14:30

Sunday, September 11, 2011

--Matt 6:9
-People want to look up to me in church
-People want to look up to me in my workplace
--I need substance to be a spiritual father.
-Attachments don't happen by chance

2) Attitude
-After having attachment, we have attitude
-Have something of substance to:
--Tell
--Show
--Inspire

3) Application
-To do that which we have learnt
-Phil 2:13
-Deu 6:4-9

Effective Communication with God That Brings Lasting Results

Growth & Maturity Series Part 3

James 4:2-4
God dosent want us to be on a roller coaster. God wants us on a battleship.

Prayer is one of the most powerful weapons of a Christian.

Satan does not need to stop us from coming to church. He simply needs to stop me from praying.

Luke 11
The secret behind Jesus' success was prayer.

What is not prayer:
- Magic
- Used in emergency only
- Method of last resort
- Religious act
- Tug of War with God
- Bargaining
- Nagging God
- Guilt-easing session

4 ways God will answer your prayer:
1) Never
-Mark 5:36
-Ps 56:3-4
-Prov 3:24-25
-Ps 34:4
-Ps 46:1-3

2) Always
-Jn 5:17
-1 Cor 6:13
-Heb 10:35-36

3) In His timing
-Acts 16:6-7
-Acts 16:9-10

4) Only once

We communicate because God is all we got
-Jn 15:5

We communicate because we belong to God
-Jn 15:15

We communicate because God is ready to Give
-Phillip 4:6
-Jn 16:24

The method God meets our needs, is via prayer.

Ps 45:15
Ps 37:4
Ps 84:11

We communicate with God because He has a great plan for my life
-the amount that God will work in my life is in proportion to my prayer life

Jn 14:11-13

Prayers possess unlimited power in impossible situations

Sat, Sep 3, 2011 - 1500hrs - Impact Svc - Ps Yohanes

Youths focus on too many things and become inadequate to achieve the things that are important.

Luke 10:1-3

The harvest is plentiful.
There are a lot of people out there who can be reached.

However, there are few workers. The problem is not the scale of the harvest, but the ratio of workers.

People always look for better methods, God looks for better men.

Impact won't grow until people are reached.

Have a heart as a harvester to reach out.

Enlist as a harvester with intention to harvest.

The worker should not be intimidated by the scale of the harvest.

Luke 10:17-20
Salvation is more important than ministry, deliverance, performance, etc.

God's focus is SOULs. Not MINISTRY. If ministry stops me from reaching out, then I need to stop my ministry.

1 Cor 9:25-27
Do things that are purposeful, valuable.

Success is intentional, not incidental.

There is no glory without pain.

Matthew 3:17

CHOSEN & MARKED by love. Isn't that an interesting thought?

And along with the Spirit, a voice: "This is my Son, chosen and marked by my love, delight of my life."

Growth & Maturity Series - Part 1

Title: Your Address Has Changed

God desires for me to move. Change needs to happen for God to bring me to something better.

God is saddened when I don't want to move into what He prepared for me.

As a Christian, I was not made to stay in my comfort zone.

Why peple don't want to move forward:

1) Fear & Sin:
- Lack of trust that God is not there with them

- Fear of sacrifice

- Fear of failure

- Rom 5:20

2) Guilt, Regret & Shame

3) Familiarity With The Old
- People stay where they are because they don't know any better

- Fear of change itself.

- Exo 14:10
+ A slave mentality.

What will happen if I move into greater maturity and responsibility?
1) You are in obedience
- 1 Kings 3:10-14

2) No longer living in wasted years in fear, regret, shame or guilt
- Jer 3:21
- Opportunity comes, but its character that chooses it

3) Prosperity: I will possess what I cannot lose
- Gen 24:1

Wisdom

Wisdom is the knowledge of effective practical application of knowledge.

Knowledge is key. If we do not know something, how do we apply it.

If I do not know how to fish, how can I fish effectively. But if I do know how to fish, what's the best way to get more fish?

I think its by sharing the wisdom, and thus more people can fish together, thereby exponentially increasing yield and effectiveness.

Influence

Matt 5:13-15 MSG

What is it that I have that would draw someone to Jesus?

Being a spotlight vs Being truthful

Most people in our sphere of influence will only see Jesus through us.

Youth remembers the most influential people in their lives. Not ministries, sermons or programs

People are looking for genuine relationship, role models and mentors

If you're going to be someone else, who's going to be you?

John 12:34-35 MSG
We be a light, by our love for one another

Discipleship Goal is to move them from being dependent on me, to God. Reproduction.

To grow up, is to be a disciple

People stay in church because of relationships

A New Beginning

Its the beginning of a new week.

New People to meet.
New Memories to create
New Things to do.
New Goals to accomplish.
New Life to experience.
New Steps to take.

At this moment, how the week goes, can be very bad, or very good. Mundane is not acceptable.

We were not made to exist. We were made to live. :)

Food For Thought

Are we Spiritual Beings having a Natural experience, or Natural Beings having spiritual experiences? If its the latter, how different are we from animals? If its the former, how are we prioritizing?

Slaying Giants

  1. Know the Giant
    1. Face up to the giant and take stock of it.
      1. Goliath took a stand, for forty days. David was able to know him well.
    2. Understand the threat
      1. Sometimes, the threat may not be as large as you think, other times, it’s actually larger than you think!
  2. Equip yourself
    1. Choose the right equipment. What works for others, may not work for you. Evaluate and know what you’re good with and at.
      1. David couldn’t handle a sword and a suit of armor
      2. But he could handle stones and a sling. He ‘chose’, not gathered nor picked, but CHOSE. He knew what he was looking for.
  3. Step out of the crowd
    1. Take a stand. Choose your actions to be what God placed in your heart to do. Not on the conventional wisdom of the world.
    2. Conventional wisdom would have told David NOT to stand against Goliath.
      1. There is a place for conventional wisdom, but that doesn’t take the place of doing what God placed in your heart.
  4. Consider
    1. There are things you can be certain about, in uncertain times. Imagine the mind of David when he stood before Goliath, looking at him. Could have a few possible mindsets, with different fruits.
    2. Fruit of Fear.
      1. Comparing to himself, Goliath is HUGE and unbeatable.
        1. Just as how Goliath would have wanted David to view him.
    3. Fruit of Faith.
      1. Looking at Goliath to see where to aim. And also at the ground below and thinking how big a crater Goliath would create when he falls.
        1. Just as how God would have wanted David to view him.
    4. What kind of fruit do we want?
      1. If it was certain, it wouldn’t be a problem for us
  5. Know who you are, and what you have
    1. Trust your abilities. Trust God that God knows how to use your abilities.
      1. David must have known how to use a slingshot, to know the stones to choose etc.
        1. It has been tested, that the slingshot, can actually hit the head, and kill someone at the height of Goliath.
      2. However, I believe God was the one who aided in the hit.
        1. God uses our abilities and magnifies the results. The key is that we gotta DO it!

Who Am I To God

Who do I think I am to God.

The answer to this question, is a great reflection on your relationship with God.
It is also an indicator of our security.

Whats your answer? :)

Exodus 23:25 - 30

25 Worship the LORD your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you, 26 and none will miscarry or be barren in your land. I will give you a full life span.
27 “I will send my terror ahead of you and throw into confusion every nation you encounter. I will make all your enemies turn their backs and run. 28 I will send the hornet ahead of you to drive the Hivites, Canaanites and Hittites out of your way. 29 But I will not drive them out in a single year, because the land would become desolate and the wild animals too numerous for you. 30 Little by little I will drive them out before you, until you have increased enough to take possession of the land.

Exo 23:25 - 30

This is what God spoke to me today through this verse. :)

In my paraphrase:
Worship the LORD my God, and His blessing will be on my sustenance. He will take away sickness from me. I will be blessed, and He will give me a full life span.
He will send my terror ahead of me and throw into confusion every enemy I encounter. He will make all my enemies turn their backs and run. He will send the hornet ahead of you to drive my roadblocks out of your way. But He will not drive them out in a single year, because the life would become desolate and the distractions too numerous for me. Little by little He will drive them out before me, until I have increased enough to take possession of my promise.

Flooding Noah

Gen 6:9 - 8:20

There has never been a flood greater than that which Noah experienced. He spent between 98 to 120 years preparing for it.

All around him, everything died. That must have been REALLY depressing!

In the GREATEST flood ever, Noah was in the middle of it. Imagine the miserable conditions on the ark, and spending 150 days on it. With nothing but water ALL around.

However, i learnt this. Amid the flood, Noah was there, and was exactly right where God wanted him to be. There will be times, when we feel flooded in our lives, lets remember, that just like Noah, God has taught us stuff, and prepared us, to ride it out. And to be secure, that we're right where God wants us to be.
